Task Card Freebie

Just prior to school ending I received a nice email via my school inbox from a fellow teacher, in a different district, who had run across a popular task card freebie I created called Seven Up Sentences. She was on the search for the author and wondered if it was me, as she wanted to add to her collection. I promised her I planned to make an additional set of Seven Up Sentences this summer. The idea is to take a short and simple sentence and expand it into a sentence with 7 or more words. I encourage use of descriptive adjectives, as well as adding the how or why details.  Grab it {HERE} If you haven't yet picked up the original set you can grab it too!

Summer?? What's That?

I'm lucky to have a whole room at home dedicated to stockpiling my "To Do's" for school.
At the moment I have piles all over the place and I'm telling myself to tackle as much as I can while I'm still in "school mode". This is my 3rd day of summer vacation and here's what I accomplished today.

I organized all my game goodies for math and language. I added labels (from LadyBug Teacher Files) to these colorful tubs to help with organization and sorting.

The Before:

The After:

I'm afraid I need some more tubs now. I'm down to one leftover and I got them at Target months ago in the dollar section so I know they don't have them now. Shucks!

To send my sweet students off for summer I'm busy prepping my "Bubbles of Fun" gift.

Perfect, simple, and fitting, as we all know that in the last days of school students show "Bubbles of  ENERGY!"

Teachers Rule Writing for Teacher Appreciation Week

Want to get your student's candid thoughts of you?
This is the writing to do: My Teacher Rules
Even my "pulling teeth", get to write student loved writing about ME and was the first one to want to share his thoughts aloud.
I posted about this last year, but my blog was just starting, so many of my now wonderful followers missed it. Check my original post for a read aloud I use with the writing.
It is perfect to honor your favorite teacher during Teacher Appreciation Week too!

Appreciation Shown!

How is appreciation shown to you for Teacher Appreciation Week?
Let me share the special ways I was spoiled.

I always look forward to receiving these letters from past students.
My coworker has her class write letters to their last year's teacher to show appreciation.

I also adore my gift from a parent, a Brighton necklace.

Typically, at our school, teachers are showered throughout the week with lots of heartfelt notes, flowers, gift cards, and sweet treats. Our wonderful PTA also provides snacks and lunches every day of the week.

Keep in touch. Find me at:
