Homework Management

In 3rd grade responsibility is expected for my students to record their daily homework. Here is how I manage it. Students are given a weekly homework chart and as part of their morning routine copy down assignments from the board. It takes a few tries to get the process streamlined for some students, but it's a valuable skill learned.

  2. I have my students pull out their agendas and write down their homework as a closure "activity" for each subject. It helps us transition into the next subject and also allows for time to discuss any questions about the assignment. Have you found that writing down all the homework at the beginning of the day affects either transition time or complete understanding of the assignment?
