Place Value Windows

My first unit in math is on place value and I made these place value windows that are just so handy.
I just hang them on my white board and during lessons can easily ask students to help write and represent numbers in the correct place value window.  What do you think about them?

  2. Very nice! I have a similar thing that I use, except that the children have them in placemat form. They each get a set of manipulatives for the digits 0-9. Then I call out a number and they move the manipulatives into the correct window on the mat to make the number. Great formative assessment!

I can use your window idea to reveal what they should have in front of them on their mat. Thanks for sharing!

The windows were cute out of 12x18 size paper.
